Jammu, July 11 -- The tenth batch of more than 9,000 Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on Friday for the twin base camps of Baltal and Pahalgam in south Kashmir Himalayas amid tight security arrangements.
Officials said 9,182 pilgrims departed early morning in a convoy of 333 vehicles, including light and heavy motor vehicles.
The batch included 3,305 pilgrims heading towards Baltal and 5,877 pilgrims bound for Pahalgam. The pilgrimage movement was carried out under a multi-layered security cover with coordination among the civil administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police, security forces and the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
