New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- Pakistani cleric Naseer Madni has made a fresh claim about Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed's alleged role in sending militants to Jammu and Kashmir, saying the Pakistan-based terror chief had sent 10,000 terrorists to the region.
Madni made the remarks on August 14 while addressing a gathering in Bahawalnagar linked to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, according to a report by NDTV. The remarks have since drawn attention because of the scale of the number cited and Saeed's longstanding links to terrorism targeting India.
Madni, who had reportedly suffered a serious cardiac episode while delivering a Friday sermon earlier this month, had returned to public appearances when he made the comments.
