Nigeria, Oct. 20 -- US President Donald Trump has proposed renaming the state of New Mexico to "New America", claiming the move would boost property values, raise incomes and enhance the state's national prestige.

Trump made the proposal in a social media post, arguing that the state's current name does not adequately reflect its identity as part of the United States.

"New Mexico must immediately change its name to New America. We are not Mexico, we are the United States of America! This name would greatly increase the value and prestige of the state!
