Nigeria, Aug. 20 -- Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued 10 civilians in separate operations across Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States as they intensify efforts to protect lives and secure communities in the region.

In a statement made available to The News Chronicle on Thursday by the Joint Task Force Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the troops said the operations were conducted between August 18 and 19, 2026.

According to the statement, troops on patrol in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State on August 19 encountered a terrorist ambush but swiftly repelled the attackers, forcing them to flee in disarray.
