Nigeria, July 10 -- In a statement made available to The News Chronicle, the military said the attacks occurred between 12:20 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, when the terrorists attempted to infiltrate Muna Garage, Shuwari Village and the Ajilari Cross axis to gain access into the Maiduguri metropolis.

According to the Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni, troops detected the advancing insurgents through early warning systems and engaged them from multiple directions with heavy and accurate firepower, successfully repelling all infiltration attempts.

In separate operations, troops also thwarted fresh attempts by the terrorists to infiltrate Miringa and Dutsen Kura in Buratai.
