Nigeria, April 10 -- President Bola Tinubu has described troops killed in a deadly terrorist attack on their camp in Benisheikh as "unforgettable heroes," urging Nigerians and the media to rally behind the military in the fight against insurgency.

The coordinated assault by Boko Haram terrorists targeted the camp of the 29 Task Force Brigade under Operation HADIN KAI early Thursday. The attack led to the deaths of several troops, including Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah.

The Defence Headquarters confirmed the incident, highlighting the persistent threats faced by frontline forces in the North-East.
