Nigeria, Oct. 22 -- The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, has urged Northerners to support President Bola Tinubu, insisting that the president is not an enemy of the region but a leader committed to its development.

The monarch made the appeal on Wednesday in Kano during the commissioning of sections of the 118-kilometre Abuja-Zaria-Kaduna-Kano highway.

Umar said Tinubu had demonstrated his commitment to national unity by continuing major infrastructure projects initiated by his predecessor, the late President Muhammadu Buhari, irrespective of regional differences.
