Nigeria, Sept. 30 -- The Super Eagles suffered a damaging 3-0 defeat to Guinea Bissau on Tuesday, leaving Nigeria with a major fight on their hands in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Nigeria entered the Group L clash hoping to build on their 2-1 victory over Madagascar, but the Wild Dogs produced a dominant performance in Bissau to move top of the group with six points.

Franculino Dju opened the scoring in the 15th minute after capitalising on a pass from Renato Nhaga, leaving Nigeria with plenty of work to do after the break.

The Super Eagles failed to find a response and were punished again in the 66th minute when Mama Balde doubled Guinea Bissau's advantage.
