Respect Culture, Religion in Reproductive Healthcare, Specialist Tells Policymakers
Nigeria, Aug. 3 -- A Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Dr Richard Ajayi, has called for culturally responsive reproductive healthcare across Africa, urging healthcare providers, governments and investors to align specialised medical services with the continent's diverse cultural and religious realities.
Ajayi, the Founder and Executive Vice Chairman of Bridge Clinic Fertility Centre, Lagos, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday.
He warned against treating Africa as a single healthcare market, saying such an approach ignores the continent's cultural, religious and social diversity, particularly in specialised fields like reproductive medicine.
