Nigeria, July 28 -- The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspected cattle thieves, recovered six stolen cows and foiled a suspected kidnapping attempt in separate operations across the state.

The Command's spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abeokuta.

Babaseyi said operatives of the Sagamu Police Division arrested the suspects after receiving a distress call that seven cows had been stolen from a cattle yard in the Maskoli area of Sagamu.

He explained that the report was received in the early hours of Saturday, prompting officers to launch coordinated patrols along identified escape routes.
