Nigeria, July 26 -- The Plateau State Ministry of Education has alerted all zonal directors, area directors and school principals over an alleged plan by the Black Axe Confraternity, also known as Aye, to recruit pupils and students in primary and secondary schools across the state. In a circular dated July 23, 2026, and signed by the Deputy Director, Public-Private Partnership, Lafa Longs Lamvong, on behalf of the Commissioner for Education, the ministry said intelligence reports indicated that the confraternity planned to embark on mass recruitment of students across the federation, including Plateau State.
