Nigeria, Sept. 18 -- Suspected militias on Thursday reportedly set several houses ablaze while retreating from troops who repelled an attempted attack on Manja community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. According to report obtained, the incident occurred at about 4:45 p.m. on September 17, 2026, after troops of Sector 8, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), received intelligence about the movement of suspected militias towards the community. The troops reportedly moved swiftly to intercept the attackers. On sighting the security personnel, the assailants allegedly opened fire, prompting the troops to engage them.
