Nigeria, April 4 -- A retired Nigerian police officer has stirred widespread outrage after threatening to join a Boko Haram terrorist group over unresolved pension issues, raising concerns about the welfare of former security personnel.
In a viral video circulating online, obtained by The News Chronicle on Saturday the ex-officer expressed deep frustration over what he described as a "slavery pension," accusing authorities of neglecting retired personnel despite their years of service.
Visibly angry, he warned that if nothing is done, he could cross over and assist insurgents. He further claimed he could help repair weapons and train fighters remarks that have triggered alarm and condemnation across the country.
