Earlier this week, the Senate passed the redrafted Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which introduces stiffer penalties for several road and transit-related offences. Among its provisions is a 50,000 fine for individuals who preach, hawk, or engage in commercial activities inside public transport vehicles. The bill is awaiting President Bola Tinubu's assent.
