Nigeria, March 17 -- Taliban authorities accused Pakistan of carrying out the attack, describing it as a dangerous escalation of tensions between the two neighbours. Pakistan, however, denied the claim, insisting the strike targeted militant infrastructure in a counter-terrorism operation. Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos, with large parts of the hospital destroyed by fire and explosions. The incident has further strained relations between the two countries, with China and the United Nations calling for restraint as rescue efforts continue and fears grow that the death toll may rise.
