Nigeria, Sept. 30 -- President Bola Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has criticised NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi over his call for increased Federal Government investment in Nigeria's sports sector.

Onanuga made the remarks in a post on X while reacting to Obi's recent comments on the state of sports development in the country.

Obi had called for greater investment in sports, arguing that the sector could contribute to youth development, employment generation and social transformation.

Reacting, Onanuga accused the former Anambra State governor of making what he described as false claims about the Federal Government's investment in sports.
