Nigeria, March 25 -- David Emmanuel Ombugadu, a former governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, confirmed his resignation on Tuesday.

The development follows concerns raised by a group alleging attempts to undermine his governorship ambition.

The group also accused the APC of irregularities in its recent electronic membership registration exercise, claiming it was manipulated to favour a preferred aspirant ahead of the 2027 governorship race and the succession of Governor Abdullahi Sule, The News Chronicle gathered.
