Nigeria, Oct. 26 -- Israel Ford, a pastor at LifeWorks Church in Wickliffe, Ohio, announced on Sunday, October 25, 2026, that he has married a second wife. He says the Bible does not limit a man to one wife.

Pastor Ford made the announcement at a church service. His first wife, Lydia Ford, who is also a pastor at the church, introduced Shakayla Ford, formerly Shakayla Talley, as her husband's second wife. Lydia called her a sister in marriage and told the congregation that the three of them now live in a polygynous marriage. Shakayla is a minister and a member of the church. Some worshippers applauded and cheered, and others looked surprised.
