Nigeria, March 22 -- Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have foiled an attempted attack by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province and Boko Haram terrorists on military positions in Damasak, Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on Sallah Day, when surveillance teams detected suspicious movements around key locations in the area.
According to the sources, the terrorists advanced from three different directions, including the Gaidam-Choukoku axis, the vicinity of an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, and areas close to troop deployment and headquarters in Damasak.
