Nigeria, June 29 -- The Fund announced on Monday that it is engaging affected institutions and relevant authorities to ensure that students receive refunds for tuition fees they paid before NELFUND later settled the same fees directly with their schools.

In a public notice, NELFUND also condemned reports of arbitrary hikes in tuition and other institutional charges, warning that such practices undermine the objectives of the student loan programme.

According to the Fund, some institutions have either delayed or outright refused to refund students despite receiving tuition payments from NELFUND on their behalf.
