Nigeria, Aug. 10 -- The intervention, being implemented under the administration of the Executive Chairman of the council, Dr Idris Ahmad Damagani, is targeted at providing immediate financial relief to residents and supporting households facing economic difficulties.

The council said the initiative was designed to complement other interventions aimed at improving the welfare of people at the grassroots.

Damagani, who has consistently emphasised people-oriented governance since assuming office, said the council remained committed to implementing programmes that would directly impact the lives of residents.
