Nigeria, April 1 -- Details of the operation were disclosed in a statement by the Command's spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Wednesday in Kano.

According to Kiyawa, one of the suspects, Abubakar Sidi, was apprehended on March 26 along Airport Road while operating a tricycle later confirmed to be stolen.

He noted that the suspect could not present valid proof of ownership, prompting his transfer to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further interrogation.

Further investigations, he said, uncovered that the suspect had stolen the tricycle from Emir Palace Road and had previously disposed of other stolen tricycles in neighboring Jigawa State.
