Iru Ekun: Security Initiative or Political Instrument?
Nigeria, June 1 -- In my last article, I argued that all available security and intelligence resources should be urgently deployed to rescue the victims of the recent abduction in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. As Nigerians marked Children's Day yesterday, the plight of the abducted students and their teachers cast a shadow over the celebrations. Encouragingly, many Nigerians, including celebrities and public figures, used the occasion to amplify calls for the federal government to act swiftly and ensure their safe return. This collective show of concern demonstrates that, beyond politics and ethnicity, the safety of our children remains a cause that unites us all.
