Nigeria, June 24 -- Patrick, a mother of four, filed the divorce petition against her husband, Abdullateef Anafi, a mechanical engineer, alleging repeated misunderstandings and acts of intimidation during their marriage.

In her claims before the court, Patrick said she had been separated from her husband for over a year due to unresolved issues in their relationship.

She alleged that her husband had disrespected her parents and threatened her with a machete on two occasions.

"He threatened me with a machete twice. I live in constant fear," Patrick told the court.

She further alleged that she was injured with the machete on May 18 and reported the incident to the Masaka Police Station.
