Nigeria, Sept. 24 -- Heavily armed men suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted the Medical Director of Multicare Hospital in Makurdi, Benue State, Dr Jonah Ogbaji.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 9 p.m. when the men stormed the hospital and took the doctor away.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspects arrived at the facility in a Toyota Sienna vehicle and whisked Ogbaji away without identifying themselves.

A daughter of the victim, who requested anonymity, confirmed that the family was yet to establish his whereabouts.

She said some of the hospital workers were unable to identify the men, adding that the suspects claimed to be security operatives.
