Nigeria, Aug. 31 -- The gunmen reportedly carried out the attacks at different locations in Awka, killing Nwosu and another yet-to-be-identified victim.

Confirming the incident, the spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the command had condemned in the strongest terms the gun attacks carried out by unidentified gunmen in Awka on Sunday, August 30, 2026, which resulted in the deaths of two persons.

Ikenga said the command had consequently intensified its ongoing manhunt for the perpetrators and appealed to members of the public for support and cooperation in apprehending the suspects and bringing them to justice.
