Nigeria, March 10 -- In a statement issued on Monday evening by his Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, the governor urged both religious communities to intensify prayers as Muslims enter the final days of Ramadan while Christians observe Lent.
Zulum said the last 10 days of Ramadan offer a special opportunity for Muslims to seek divine mercy and blessings.
"As we usher in the last 10 days of the Holy month of Ramadan, let's intensify prayers to Almighty Allah and beseech Him, through all other acts of worship, to attract His mercies, blessings, and rewards," he said.
The governor noted that the call for prayers comes amid renewed attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in parts of Borno.
