Nigeria, April 6 -- Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has reportedly signed a $1.2 million (N1.9 billion) contract with Washington-based lobbying firm Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C. as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Documents filed with the U.S. Department of Justice show that the 12-month agreement was signed on March 10 and officially registered with the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) Unit on April 1.
Under the agreement, the firm will provide strategic advisory services, engage U.S. congressional and executive officials, and manage Atiku's public image among key policymakers in Washington.
