Nigeria, March 21 -- Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reiterated his administration's resolve to ensure the security of lives and property for every resident of Rivers State, including members of the Muslim community.

The governor gave this assurance on Friday in Port Harcourt while hosting a delegation of the Muslim ummah led by Nasir Uhor.

The group, made up of Islamic scholars and leaders of the Arewa community, paid the visit as part of activities marking the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Fubara emphasized that all residents, irrespective of their ethnic or religious backgrounds, are considered bona fide indigenes of the state.
