Nigeria, Feb. 22 -- The political drumbeat in Rivers reached a crescendo on Saturday as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Henrietta Bulabari, stormed to victory in the Khana II State House of Assembly Constituency bye-election, leaving her rivals trailing in her wake.
When the final tally was read, Bulabari stood tall with 7,647 votes - a commanding figure that sealed her triumph at the polls.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Angela Briggs, formally declared her winner, stating that she emerged victorious ''having satisfied the requirements of the law.''
The breakdown of results painted a clear picture of the contest: AA garnered 46 votes, APC clinched 7,647, NNPP secured 37, YPP recorded 23, while ZLP polled 47.
