Nigeria, Oct. 14 -- Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly killed more than 10 soldiers in an attack on a military base in Melari community, Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.

The attack, which reportedly occurred on Tuesday night, saw the insurgents storm the military base, kill the soldiers and set several military vehicles ablaze.

According to a report obtained by The News Chronicle, several other soldiers were also injured during the assault.

The attack underscores the persistent security challenges confronting military personnel and residents in parts of Borno State, where troops continue to battle Boko Haram and other armed groups.
