Bangladesh, Sept. 16 -- Veteran Nigerian actor and film executive, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, has died at the age of 84.

Jacobs' death was announced by his son, Olusoji Jacobs, in a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

The family described the veteran actor as a beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, while appealing to the public, bloggers and social media influencers to respect the family's privacy at the time of mourning.

The statement gave his date of birth as July 11, 1942, and his date of death as September 16, 2026.
