Bashir Kurfi Arrested After Claiming Katsina Govt Paid Bandit Leaders for Hajj
Nigeria, July 8 -- Before his arrest, Dr. Kurfi alleged that the Katsina State Government paid some suspected bandit leaders N10 million each to enable them perform the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. The claim was reported by Katsina Times.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have not officially disclosed the reason for Dr. Kurfi's arrest or detention.
The Katsina State Government has also not issued an official response to the allegations made by Dr. Kurfi.
The claims remain unverified, and there has been no official confirmation from the authorities regarding the allegations or the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
