Nigeria, Oct. 24 -- The Anambra State Police Command has convened a peace meeting with parties involved in the ongoing dispute at St Faith Anglican Church, Awka, urging them to resolve their differences through the church's established hierarchy and respect ongoing court proceedings.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, held the meeting at his office on Friday, as part of efforts to prevent a breakdown of law and order arising from the dispute.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Commissioner acknowledged the ongoing court proceedings and urged the parties to pursue peaceful dialogue through appropriate ecclesiastical channels, without prejudice to the judicial process.
