Nigeria, June 16 -- The Command said the move became necessary following the increasing use of unregistered vehicles and the deliberate obstruction, alteration, and concealment of number plates, practices that make vehicle identification difficult and undermine security operations.



In a statement issued on Tuesday, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu urged vehicle owners and motorists across the state to ensure that their vehicles are properly registered and that registration number plates are clearly displayed and visible at all times.
