Nigeria, April 9 -- Three suspects have been arrested by the Special Anti-Touting Squad Agency (SASA), Anambra state for illegal revenue collection and extortion across the state.
SASA spokesperson, Karen James, who disclosed this on Thursday, said the suspects, Michael Uwaoma, Ndubuisi Aniukwu, and Anthony Onyekwelu, were apprehended in separate operations within Onitsha and its environs.
She said the suspects were arrested for allegedly extorting traders and commercial operators at Mgbuka Obosi and Umusiome Junction, Nkpor, respectively.
"Michael Uwaoma, from Okija, Anambra State, was arrested at Mgbuka Obosi for collecting NGN200 from women selling food items.
