Nigeria, Aug. 5 -- An agritech expert, Dr Bisola Aduba, has called on Nigeria to embrace precision agriculture to significantly increase food production, saying farmers can achieve higher yields without expanding cultivation into shrinking farmlands.

Aduba made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja, where she stressed that technology-driven farming offered a sustainable solution to the country's growing food security challenges.

She said desertification, insecurity and rapid population growth had placed increasing pressure on available arable land, making it imperative for farmers to maximize productivity on existing farmland rather than clear new areas.
