Nigeria, March 26 -- The development was disclosed in Abuja by Mr. Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the minister on Public Communications and Social Media.
According to Olayinka, one of the suspects, residing at No. 3 Martin Elegoma Street, Nigeria Army Post Housing Estate, Phase 1, Kurudu, was arrested on Tuesday.
He explained that the suspect allegedly defrauded a retired Major-General, A. K. Ibrahim, along with other victims, of more than N150 million under the guise of facilitating a land transaction in Guzape II Cadastral Zone, Abuja.
Olayinka revealed that the suspect deceived victims into believing he had close ties with the FCT Minister and officials within the land administration system.
