Nigeria, Sept. 21 -- Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi has promised to return Nigerian youths to farming and small-scale businesses if elected president in 2027, as part of measures to tackle unemployment and move the economy from consumption to production.

Obi made the pledge on Saturday in Kaduna during an NDC town-hall meeting where he appeared alongside his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to engage supporters and outline their plans for the country.

The former Anambra State governor said his proposed administration would focus on creating productive opportunities for young Nigerians, arguing that unemployment was contributing to some of the social challenges confronting the country.
