Nigeria, Aug. 3 -- French football analyst Walid Acherchour has backed Barcelona star Lamine Yamal to secure a significant share of the votes for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, citing the youngster's remarkable performances for both club and country.

Acherchour said the Spain international has established himself as one of the leading contenders for football's most prestigious individual award after an impressive campaign.
