Nigeria, July 9 -- Peller, 21, was arrested on Friday, July 3, in the Lekki area of Lagos following a confrontation with police officers over a vehicle with tinted windows and no number plate. A video of the encounter went viral, with Peller alleging that officers pulled his shirt and pointed a gun at his head before taking him into custody.

Speaking on Snapchat after his release, Peller described the conditions he faced in the cell.

"I am ugly now, I can't show my face yet. Omo, I slept in a cell for almost four days. It has never happened to me before in my life o," he said.
