Bangladesh, Oct. 22 -- Uzbekistan has expressed its readiness to expand cooperation with Bangladesh in several areas, including sustainable development, climate change and regional collaboration.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Dr Khalilur Rahman, President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and Bangladesh's Foreign Affairs Minister, on Tuesday, according to the Uzbek President's Office.

The two sides reaffirmed their shared interest in strengthening constructive cooperation towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, advancing regional cooperation in Central Asia, addressing the effects of climate change, and promoting a culture of peace and interfaith dialogue.
