UNGA to decide on Bangladesh's LDC extension
Bangladesh, July 23 -- The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) has recommended that the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) consider Bangladesh's request for a three-year extension to its preparatory period before graduating from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category.Demographics
The recommendation was adopted by consensus at an ECOSOC meeting in New York on Monday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The decision also applies to Nepal, which has sought a similar extension to its LDC graduation timeline.
