Bangladesh, Sept. 17 -- Two factories in Sastapur of Fatullah, Narayanganj Sadar, were fined a total of Tk 2.5 lakh for causing air pollution during a mobile court operation.

The fined establishments are Messrs Rahmat Textile Mills and SK Dyeing and Finishing Mills, both located in Sastapur. Rahmat Textile Mills was fined Tk 2 lakh, while SK Dyeing and Finishing Mills was fined Tk 50,000.

The drive was conducted on Wednesday (September 16) under the direction of Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Raihan Kabir. The operation was led by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate S.M. Foyez Uddin and Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Sadia Akter.
