Bangladesh, Oct. 26 -- Farmers in Sylhet are busy cultivating and tending early-season winter vegetables in the hope of securing higher profits by bringing their produce to market ahead of the peak season. Winter vegetables have already begun appearing in local markets, fetching good prices.

Debal Sarkar, additional deputy director (crops) at the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) in Sylhet, said the district produces a wide variety of crops across its upazilas.

This year, farmers throughout the district, including Sylhet Sadar, are actively cultivating early-season winter vegetables using modern agricultural techniques in anticipation of higher returns.
