Bangladesh, Sept. 24 -- Hundreds of fishing boats have taken shelter in coastal areas and different parts of the Sundarbans as the sea turned rough amid adverse weather.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued warning signal No. 3 for the maritime ports. Abul Hossain, president of the Shyamnagar Upazila Fishing Trawler Owners' Association, said several hundred fishing boats had taken shelter at Rayenda, Mahipur, Khepupara, Nidrasakhina and Patharghata coastal areas, as well as at different locations in the Sundarbans, after being unable to withstand the rough sea, reports BSS.
"Some boats are still returning towards the coast," he said.
