Bangladesh, Sept. 10 -- A special drive was conducted in different areas of Nakla Union in Sherpur's Nakla upazila on Wednesday to prevent bird hunting.

The drive was jointly organised by the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Division, Sherpur; Sherpur Bird Club; and Shine, a nature and environmental organisation.

The operation began early in the morning and continued for around four hours. During the drive, hunting equipment was seized from five bird hunters and 10 herons were rescued. The birds were later released into the wild.
