Bangladesh, April 7 -- West Bengal's artists' organisations have called for an indefinite shutdown of shooting in protest against the death of Indian actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee and demanding the safety of the artists.

The final decision has been taken to suspend the shooting of all films and serials in Kolkata and its surrounding areas from Tuesday morning.

The announcement came after an emergency meeting of Tollywood stars at Technicians Studio in Kolkata on Sunday evening.

The meeting was attended by senior artists like Prosenjit Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Jishu Sengupta, Shantilal Mukherjee, Anjana Basu, Rupanjana Mitra and Bidipta Chakraborty.
