Bangladesh, April 9 -- The government is planning to gradually reintroduce school feeding or midday meal programmes across all upazilas to improve the nutritional status of primary school students.
This information was shared by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in a written response presented in the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday.
In reply to a question from Sirajganj-1 lawmaker Md Selim Reza, the prime minister also announced that a unique digital identification system, called Edu-ID, will be introduced for every student and teacher.
To help bridge the digital divide, the government is taking steps to provide free Wi-Fi in 1,500 educational institutions, including secondary schools, colleges, and universities.
