Bangladesh, July 10 -- The High Court (HC) has ruled that Sarwar Alamgir, the BNP candidate who won the Chittagong-2 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election, can take oath as a member of parliament. The court declared his candidacy valid and gave this ruling.Politics (Right)

A High Court bench comprising of Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Md. Asif Hasan announced this ruling on Thursday.

Earlier, after hearing on the rule on July 2, the court fixed July 9 for the verdict. Senior lawyer Ahsanul Karim and Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon were present in the court for the writ petitioner.

On the other hand, senior lawyer Shishir Monir and lawyer Azim Uddin Patwary were present for Jamaat candidate Md. Nurul Amin.
